Like any happening city anywhere in the world, downtown Seattle can pas for the nerve center of the region. The waterfront comes alive with state ferries; cruise ships; container vessels; the world renowned Pike Place Market; and tourist traffic that grows exponentially each year. The graceful skyline has come to represent Seattle’s huge impact in the world of trade on the Pacific Rim, software, biochemical research, and of course, espresso.
Not long ago the place hardly looked or acted like the unfettered economic success story it is. Downtown had no zest. Even some suburbs seemed livelier. That changed with the new development of condominiums and a concerted city effort to revitalize the commercial core. Dot com investment didn’t hurt either.
Now, weekend nights show no signs of letting up. Major music clubs anchor each end of downtown. People have returned to the city not only to be entertained, and to live. A walk along the waterfront north from downtown reveals block after block of waterfront view condominiums and apartments squeezed into the bluff.
Other options for condo seekers? Remember that some of the four star hotel chains have converted much of their real estate to condos as well, taking advantage of upscale markets and skyscraper views over everything this region offers. And that’s a lot.
To the south, historic Pioneer Square lies within walking distance or the city’s free buses. Just a few blocks north of the Market, Belltown and its skyrise condos anchor a new beginning for what used to be a dead end and deprived part of town. To the west, sparkling Puget Sound bathes under sunlight as the statuesque Olympic Mountains silhouette against the sky.
Finding waterfront or waterview real estate in the downtown core is hardly impossible, but it will not come cheap. And you’d want to be able to find the right property in the precise location, so that’s where CondoCompany comes in. Get in touch to see how we can help.
