The Charlestown real estate market has been flourishing over the past decade due to the historic beauty of the area and the neighborhood’s close proximity to the City of Boston.

Throughout Charlestown there are Federal, Colonial and Victorian-style houses, as well as brownstones lining Monument Square.  Luxury condos and townhouses can be found on the waterfront in the historic Charlestown Navy Yard.

Charlestown, one of Boston’s oldest neighborhoods, is rich in history and culture and is home to dozens of famous historical monuments and attractions.  Originally settled in 1628, Charlestown became a neighborhood of the City of Boston in 1870.

The neighborhood is part of the historical Freedom Trail walk, on which tourists are guided through sections of historic Boston and visiting such Charlestown sites as Bunker Hill Monument, the Navy Yard, and the U.S.S. Constitution.

Many fine shops and restaurants are located in downtown Charlestown, as well as the popular Tavern On the Water, one of Boston’s few truly waterfront restaurant bars, located in the Navy Yard.  Charlestown is located on a peninsula just northwest of Downtown Boston, across the harbor from Boston’s North End.

The neighborhood is easily accessible from Downtown Boston, the Financial District and the North End via the Washington Street Bridge, which connects Charlestown and the North End, the MBTA’s orange line, several bus stops, and a water taxi with service between the Charlestown Navy Yard and the waterfront of Downtown Boston.
