Arrowhead, known as “Vail’s Private Address” is situated on the banks of the Eagle River twelve miles west of Vail. Prior to 1983 when property sales began to take off the area was primarily a summer destination with the main attraction being the Jack Nicklaus designed Country Club of the Rockies – one of Colorado’s top golf courses. Skiing became available on Arrowhead Mountain during the 1988-89 ski seasons then making Arrowhead a year round resort destination. Vail Resorts acquired Arrowhead in 1993 and development began on a spectacular new village to village ski-way from Beaver Creek Mountain through Bachelor Gulch Village to Arrowhead Village.
Arrowhead Village itself has a distinct European flavor to it featuring quaint winding streets used by skiers and pedestrians on foot with no vehicles to dodge around from. The Alpine Club & Spa located in Arrowhead incorporates a country club atmosphere into a ski resort giving skiers and club members a high level of service and convenience from its private mountainside setting. Members are able to enhance their ski vacation with amenities such as valet ski services, ski lockers and private locker rooms. During the summer months the Alpine Club & Spa offers activities ranging from back-country hikes to mountain bike trips to fly-fishing lessons and other summer season recreational and social amusements.
Finally, members will have year round access to a complete health spa and exercise facility. Featured Amenities Include: Golfing:The renowned Country Club of the Rockies – a Jack Nicklaus designed championship 18-hole, Par 72 course that is 7317 yards long from the tournament tees and is Vail Valley’s only totally private golf club. Skiing:Trails connecting Arrowhead Mountain to Bachelor Gulch Village and Beaver Creek Village make this North America’s premier village to village skiing extravaganza. Along the way you can indulge in fresh home-made soups, sandwiches and daily specials from the cafes and restaurants along the way. Summer Activities:Private fly-fishing on the Eagle River, swimming, tennis on both hard and clay surfaces, horseback riding, hiking and mountain biking are also available within Arrowhead and its surrounding villages.
