Planet Hollywood Towers

[Las Vegas, NV]

by Chenier Ferguson

Orlando-based Westgate Resorts has joined forces with Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino for its latest Las Vegas Strip venture. The new Planet Hollywood Towers by Westgate offers both timeshare and condominium ownership right in the heart of the Entertainment Capital of the World. When completed, the project at Harmon Avenue and Audrie will feature two 50-story towers with 1,200 vacation villas and 28 exclusive penthouse suites. Construction is under way on the first tower with framing almost completed on the first several floors.

"We are building an icon that will transform both the Las Vegas skyline and the timeshare industry," says David Siegel, President and CEO of Westgate Resorts. "When completed, this will be the world's first vacation ownership resort directly connected to a major resort hotel and casino complex, complete with over 12 restaurants and luxury resort amenities, as well as a full-service shopping mall with more than 140 stores. We believe that this fully self-contained resort environment will provide our 350,000 timeshare owners vacation experiences unavailable anywhere else in the world."

The Planet Hollywood Towers will feature 3.2 million square feet of space, a sandy beach and private cabanas, a 46th floor pool for the exclusive penthouse suites, a world-class fitness facility, as well as an on site marketplace and deli. The main areas of the Towers will eventually be furnished in a tropical decor. Interested buyers have four floor plans to choose from when selecting a timeshare or condominium at the property. They include: a standard studio, one bedroom grand, two bedroom deluxe and a four bedroom unit. Each is distinctly appointed with stainless steel appliances, granite counter tops and high tech lighting. The suites will have a more modern look and feel with some exotic twists including faux crocodile and leopard print patterns. All of the furniture inside each suite will be both sleek and functional.

The lobby connecting both the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino and the new Planet Hollywood Towers will be massive at 12,800 square feet. Eight chandeliers will greet guests as they check-in at the vacation resort. Each chandelier is comprised of 66,000 Swarovski crystals. The lobby will also dazzle vacation and condominium owners with black granite floors, textured glass walls and a magnificent color-changing LED with different shades of light throughout the check-in desk.

"Westgate Resorts is one of the largest and most successful vacation ownership companies in the world and this incredible building will dramatically increase guest traffic, room count and the overall Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino experience," says Robert Earl, co-chairman of Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino. "I could not be more pleased to be working with David Siegel, a pioneer and visionary in the tourism industry. The development of this plot of land, coupled with the complete redesign of our facade and casino, and the agreement with the shopping mall on enhanced entrances, including access to the Planet Hollywood Towers by Westgate, has created a seamless and completely integrated resort complex."

In addition to the Planet Hollywood Towers, Westgate also owns the Westgate Flamingo Bay Resort in Las Vegas. Westgate is a subsidiary of Central Florida Investments, Inc. The company, which was founded by Siegel in 1970, is the largest privately owned corporation in central Florida and the third largest timeshare company in the world with more than 350,000 owners.
