Neighbors and Noise Insulation

One of the things that many people find off-putting about condos, if they buy into a condominium complex, is the fact that they will likely be sharing walls with neighbors. However, there are actually condo complexes that are comprised of individual buildings—these are typically within gated communities—but individual buildings for condos is much more rare. Generally, condos tend to be in urban areas, where space is at a premium, and condos are a great space-saving way to have many people living in a densely populated neighborhood.

If you have neighbors, you might be worried about suffering through your next door neighbor’s son’s band practice, or maybe you have upstairs neighbors that walk a little bit too loudly. It’s one thing to deal with such irritations in a rented apartment, but knowing that you’re a permanent resident of the building is an entirely different manner.

For people who are nervous about this, be sure to talk to an insulation expert about noise insulation. Noise insulation can help block out the sounds of your neighbors and keep your condo quiet—some forms don’t even require the wall to be taken down for installation. You can get noise insulation in your condo as easily as poking a hole in the wall and filling it up from there. Be sure to look into this option if you’re worried about keeping the neighbor’s noise to a minimum in your condo!
